PVE WotLK Enhancement Shaman DPS Guide (Short)

Welcome to our PVE Enhancement Shaman guide for WoW WotLK. This guide will show you what you need to know to play the Shaman class as Enhancement. If you follow this build you should be at the top of the DPS chart in no time!

Talents

For a fresh 80 this build works a lot better. It has cheap shocks and you get mana regen from Stormstrike.

Enhancement build (Low Gear)

This build is for people with almost BiS gear. This build has less Mana regeneration, which is part of why you need the better gear. Your totems are also new better than a Death Knight’s Horn of winter at the cost of a little intellect.

Enhancement build (BiS Gear)

You can also optionally change Ancestral Knowledge to Enhancing Totems.

Glyphs

Major Glyphs

You could replace Windfury Weapon with one of these:

Minor Glyphs

Gems

Gems can change based on your build, equipment and caps. You may need to adjust your gems to account for your gear.

Enchants

You may need to adjust your enchants based on your gear but these are the standard enchants.

Stat Priority

  1. Hit Rating (8% soft cap) (17% desired) (27% hard cap)
  2. Expertise (26)
  3. Attack Power / Haste
  4. Critical strike
  5. Armor Penetration
  6. Agility

Hit rating soft cap is 8% and should be your first priority. This means your special abilities will not miss. Dual wielding has a hit cap of 27% but it’s not reasonable to actually hit the hard cap. You would give up too many useful stats to hit 27%.

Due to the build relying on Maelstrom Weapon and Lightning Bolt you need 17% spell hit.

Hast and attack power give about the same dps boost so it’s more or less a personal choice.

Rotation

You should be dual wielding, it’s much higher DPS.

Windfury Weapon should be on your main-hand and Flametongue Weapon on your off-hand.

Enhance has a very complicated rotation but after a while you get used to it.

Both Feral Spirit and Shamanistic Rage should be used every time they are off cooldown.

PVE WotLK Restoration Shaman Healer Guide (Short)

Welcome to our PVE Restoration Shaman guide for WoW WotLK. This guide will show you what you need to know to play the Shaman class as Restoration. If you follow this build you should be at the top of the Healing meters in no time!

Talents

This is the standard Restoration Shaman build. If you have another Resto Shaman or a Holy Priest with Ancestral Healing, then you can drop it for Elemental Weapons and Cleanse Spirit.

Other viable options depending on your gear.

Minor Glyphs

Gems

Gems can change based on your build, equipment and caps. You may need to adjust your gems to account for your gear.

Enchants

You may need to adjust your enchants based on your gear but these are the standard enchants.

Stat Priority

  1. Spell Power
  2. Haste
  3. Critical Strike
  4. Mp5

Spell power is your main stat because improving it significantly increases your healing.

Haste can reduce your global cooldown to 1 second. The haste soft cap for a resto shaman is 38.7% (1269 rating). This will reduce the cast time of your Lesser Healing Wave to 1 second. You shouldn’t go over 1400 haste.

Critical Strike rating actually does a lot more than just increase your chance to crit with healing spells. It regenerates mana thanks to Improved Water Shield it also increases your chance to proc Ancestral Awakening and improves the chance of 4pT10 with Chain Heal.

Healing during the fight

Low on mana

If you find yourself out of mana, cast Mana Tide. You can also ask a Priest for Hymn of Hope or a Druid for Innervate.

Gems

Gems can change based on your build, equipment and caps. You may need to adjust your gems to account for your gear.

Persistent Earthsiege Diamond May be viable if you are playing an Orc and want to combine this with the racial passive for even further improved stun duration reduction.

Enchants

You may need to adjust your enchants based on your gear but these are the standard enchants.

You should be using either Totem of Quaking Earth or Totem of the Avalanche  though keep in mind Totem of the Avalanche can lower your DPS output if you lose stacks during a stun/fear.

Stat Priority

  1. Spell Penetration (75+, 135 max)
  2. Hit (262 max)
  3. Haste (10% or more)

PVE WotLK Elemental Shaman DPS Guide (Short)

Welcome to our PVE Elemental Shaman guide for WoW WotLK. This guide will show you what you need to know to play the Shaman class as Elemental. If you follow this build you should be at the top of the DPS chart in no time!

Talents

This is the core dps Elemental Shaman build. I’ll list some options/points below.

Ele Shaman DPS Build

Glyphs

Major Glyphs

Minor Glyphs

Gems

Gems can change based on your build, equipment and caps. You may need to adjust your gems to account for your gear.

If you need to gem for hit or haste then you can use: Veiled Ametrine or Reckless Ametrine.

Enchants

You may need to adjust your enchants based on your gear but these are the standard enchants.

Stat Priority

  1. Hit (17%)
  2. Spell Power
  3. Haste
  4. Critical Strike
  5. Intellect

Like other casters shamans also require 17% hit, to always hit bosses. You can take the Elemental Precision talent which gives 3% hit rating. This will lower your hit rating requirement to 14%.

Spell power is your primary stat as increasing it gives you the biggest DPS boost. Don’t ignore hit cap for spell power, there is no point in having hard hitting spells that never hits.

Haste is our second strongest offensive stat. Only after you get extremely high amounts of haste does critical strike start comparing. You should gear for haste and let your critical strike increase as your gear gets better.

Rotation

  1. Flame Shock
  2. Lava Burst
  3. Elemental Mastery
  4. Lightning Bolt

Everything else will be used when it comes off Cooldown.

Also, if there are multiple mobs then you can use Chain Lightning to increase your DPS.

Also, don’t forget to place your totems before the fight.
