BigWigs Bossmods

BigWigs is open source and development is done on GitHub. You can contribute code, localization, and report issues there: https://github.com/BigWigsMods/BigWigs

Introduction

BigWigs is a boss encounter add-on. It consists of many individual encounter scripts, or boss modules; mini add-ons that are designed to trigger alert messages, timer bars, sounds, and so forth, for one specific raid encounter.

Looking for functionality that BigWigs doesn’t cover? Try these addons:

  • LittleWigs is a plugin for BigWigs and covers all forms of 5 man and solo content.
  • Capping covers various battleground and world PvP timers.
  • oRA3 covers all sorts of raid management functionality including raid cooldowns and Battle Res counting.
  • Old content can be installed by doing a search for BigWigs on Curse and installing the appropriate expansion addon.

Our goals

When raiding, a high framerate is important. We understand that every extra frame matters, so BigWigs aims to be as efficient as possible. The memory/second and CPU/second footprint of BigWigs is the lowest of all boss mod addons.

When modules are written, every aspect of the encounter is inspected. Is add-on synchronisation required? Is target scanning required? What events are really needed?

We also aim to have the latest encounter scripts released ASAP; not long after the first few attempts of a brand new boss, we usually have a working encounter script for it.

CTMod

Introduction:

CTMod is one of the longest-running addon collections (since Vanilla), written first by Cide and TS who can boast that many of their innovative features were later incorporated into the actual game. Resike (2013-2017) and Dahk (2017-present) have maintained the addon in recent expansions.

CTMod customizes your interface to include hotbars, buff timers, statistics recording, and much more. This project commits to tailoring the existing Blizzard UI wherever possible, instead of completely replacing it like some other addons do.

Help Needed:

If you know more than one language, please contribute at https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/ctmod/localization

Modules:

This addon is modular so you can pick and choose which parts you want! Type /ct to configure them all!

  • CT_Core (/ctcore) – Several small scripts combined together. If you only use a few features, the others will remain disabled and take up almost no memory at all.
  • CT_BarMod (/ctbar) – Adds additional hotkey bars at the bottom above the experience bar, and additional left and right side bars. Shifts the pet bar above the left bar when it is turned on (unless overridden by the even more-featured CT_BottomBar).
  • CT_BottomBar (/ctbb) – Breaks apart the game’s bottom bar to move, rotate, and even hide different parts such as the bag bar, main menu bar, pet bar, class stance bar, etc.
  • CT_BuffMod (/ctbuff) – CT_BuffMod allows a much different style of customizable buff display. Buff names and durations can be shown. Buffs can be sorted by type or duration, and different types can even be shown in different parts of the screen. BuffMod is very versatile and the only way to truly unlock its potential is to play with the options until you get what you like!
  • CT_UnitFrames (/ctuf) – Unit frame mod that allows you to further customize the look and feel of the Blizzard unit frames for the player, target, focus, assist, target of target, and target of focus.
  • CT_RaidAssist (/ctra) – A modern remake of the original CTRA that predated Blizzard’s actual raid frames. Reports hp, mana, buffs, and debuffs of anyone or everyone in your raid. Sorting is possible by groups, roles (retail only) and classes.
  • CT_MailMod (/ctmail and /maillog) – Adds several features to your mail window and a log to keep track of what you sent/received.
  • CT_MapMod (/ctmap) – Tracks herbs and ore as you discover them, and other features like adding custom notes to the map to remember where stuff is.
  • CT_ExpenseHistory (/cteh) – Tracks how much you spend on repairs, reagents, ammo, and mail postage. You can see your totals spent for each character, or a dated log of what you spent.
  • CT_PartyBuffs – Displaying of buffs on the party frames instead of when hovering a player’s frame.
  • CT_Timer (/cttimer) – General purpose countdown and stopwatch timer.
  • CT_Viewport (/ctvp) – Adds the ability to change the game’s viewport. This modifies the size of the rendered world, so that you can place UI elements outside of it.

Old Content mods are split into multiple packages for retail WoW

Older content is split into multiple addons to reduce mod update size. These are often far less updated as DBM Core packages and are better as optional extra packages. You can get them here (Note: DBM-Classic already includes ALL mods available for World of Warcraft: Classic and NONE of these old content mods should be installed on classic):

Additional Mods

Countdown Packs

Voice Packs

Getting too many updates of DBM per day?

Multiple alpha versions can get pushed to Curse on an average day, these versions may contain important new features or bug fixes for the bleeding edge raid content… These versions are tagged as alpha, so they will not be downloaded by default. Set your addon client to update to alpha if you want these latest versions (but they may contain bugs, downloads tagged as “Beta” or “Release” are more stable and released less frequently)

Right click on DBM itself in addon client list and set to preferred release type to control update frequency.

Features

  • Mods for raid, dungeon, special event and Brawlers Guild
  • Colored raid warnings (players will be colored according to their class) with icons and to the point messaging. DBM aims to let you know what to do for something, not just show you a spell name.
  • A big focus on filtering/hiding what you don’t need to know for your role (or what you can’t do anything about such as dispel/interrupt on cooldown), so you can focus on the information you do need, while also maintaining ability to disable these filters for leaders that do want a larger overview of fight events.
  • Auto-respond during boss fights. DBM will inform anyone who whispers you during a boss fight that you are busy. These messages contain the name and health of the boss as well as the raid’s status. This feature is completely optional and can be disabled by player or even raid leader for the entire group.
  • Bars can be enlarged with custom effects when they are about to expire
  • Bars that not only show time remaining, but make use of colors and icons to show what type of ability is coming and what role it’s for. DBM aims to help you process these bars at a glance.
  • Crash/DC recovery: you had a disconnect or crash during a boss fight? No problem for DBM! It will request the timer and combat status information from other DBM users in your raid group and you get your timers back
  • Infoframes that is used to show fight overviews or specific mechanics related to fight to help give you need to know information at a quick glance.
  • Modular design – all boss mods are plugins and can be exchanged, removed or updated separately
  • Load on demand – all boss mods are separate AddOns and they will be loaded when they are needed. So they don’t use memory or cpu until you enter the corresponding instance
  • Special effects like the screen flash effect, huge warning messages and sounds will draw your attention to critical events with as much customizing of those flashes and sounds as possible to make them effective to your needs.
  • Support for SharedMedia, so you can use any texture for your bars and choose sounds from external sources more easily.
  • Best possible support for PTR/Beta encounter testing. DBM is only mod to provide cutting edge auto learning timers right in middle of your testing so you know what’s coming and when, before anyone has ever even seen the fight before.
  • Support for voice packs in many different supported languages. Every mod puts careful thought into what the best voice for an alert is that clearly and concisely advices action based on warning. No generic spell name TTS here. DBM voice packs will say something meaningful and not just make more noise for you to ignore.
  • Any feature that makes sense to do so has good callbacks that WAs authors can use for best possible WeakAuras integration.

Deadly Boss Mods – Classic

A version of Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) that runs on classic. It’s still work in progress. It’s dungeon support is preliminary but should be somewhat functional now. In addition, using “/dway x, y” allows you to use a quest arrow out in the world.

Dungeons that that have preliminary support (warnings and AI timers):Blackfathom DeepsDeadminesGnomereganMaraudonRagefire ChasmRazorfen DownsRazorfen KraulScarlet MonasteryShadowfang KeepStormwind StockadeStratholmeSunken TempleUldamanWailing CavernsZul’Farrak

Raid Status:Molten core and Onyxia are well tested now and updated from Live Clasisc WoW logsAll remaining unleased raids should be pretty well supported already but will probably need adjustments since a lot of mods are reverse ports from retail back to classic, so timers/triggers may need tweaks to apply to actual classic.

Class Loot

This addon is an in-game representation of Kaliban’s Class Loot Lists. Kaliban’s Class Loot List provides ratings for all raid loot with respect to it’s suitability for different class/spec combinations.

Vanilla WoW raid gear is rated for each class between 0 to 5 stars, however this addon disregards any rating below 3 stars to reduce the data-set. Outlands and Northrend raid gear is split into Primary, Secondary and Tertiary priority which is displayed in-game using 5 stars, 4 stars and 3 stars respectively.

This addon purely displays the ratings given by Kaliban, therefore if you consider a rating to be unjust or incorrect on his website please take it up with him, not me!

Class Loot information can be accessed in two ways, either via item tooltips or through the slash commands.

Item tooltips contain the class loot rating along with the instances the item drops in, and finally the bosses that the item drops from.

You can check the loot of any raid item by using the following slash commands:
/cl check <item link> – Personal item check (only visible to you)
/cl gcheck <item link> – Item check broadcast to Guild Chat
/cl rcheck <item link> – Item check broadcast to Raid Chat
Configuration of this addon may be performed through the Options -> Interface -> AddOns -> ClassLoot window.

Note: If you you don’t think a rating shown is correct, check Kaliban’s site to see if it’s wrong there FIRST. If it’s wrong on Kaliban’s site, let him know not me.
